In a statement reported by the Times of Israel, Gallant declared, “Hamas made a grave mistake this morning and started a war against the State of Israel.” He underscored that Israeli soldiers are actively engaged in combat at all infiltration sites, expressing confidence that “The State of Israel will win this war.”
Gallant urged Israeli citizens to adhere to security instructions. In response to the intense rocket barrage from Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army declared a “state of readiness” for war, as reported by the Israel Broadcasting Authority.
