Israel’s Consul General in Mumbai, Kobbi Shoshani, has stated that although more than 20,000 Indians reside in Israel, he is not aware of any Indian nationals being harmed in the ongoing conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas members.
He mentioned that airline operations from India to Israel have been halted, and the Ministry of External Affairs is actively working to repatriate stranded Indians in Israel. Shoshani emphasized that there is no information regarding injuries or fatalities among Indian civilians in Israel, and he personally pledges involvement if any such cases arise. Despite the uncertainty about the exact number of Indians stuck in Israel, efforts are underway to ensure their safe return.
Shoshani also noted that several Bollywood actors were present in Israel during the incursions by Hamas, but he confirmed that actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has safely returned to India. The conflict, marked by multi-pronged attacks from Hamas militants in Gaza and Israeli retaliation, has resulted in over 1,200 casualties thus far.
