These terms govern your use of Defence Street. By browsing the site, registering an account, submitting a listing, sending an enquiry or posting any content, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. If you are using the site for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

What the service is

Defence Street is an information directory and publisher. We list companies, products and people in the defence sector, publish editorial material and provide search, comparison and ranking tools. We are not a broker, agent, dealer or reseller, we are not party to any dealing between you and a listed company, and we earn nothing from any transaction that follows an enquiry.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You must give accurate registration details, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through it. Multiple accounts must not be used to evade a suspension or to manipulate reviews, enquiries or rankings. You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by writing to us.

Accuracy of directory information

Directory records are compiled from public sources and from information supplied by the companies themselves. We check what we publish with reasonable care, but we do not warrant that any listing is accurate, complete or current. Specifications, certifications, ownership, contact details and personnel change, and we may not learn of a change immediately. Ranking pages, comparison tables and category listings are generated from the data we hold, are provided for orientation only, and are not an assessment of quality, capability or suitability. Verify anything you intend to rely on directly with the company concerned before making a commercial or procurement commitment, and read our disclaimer.

Submitting and claiming listings

If you submit a listing, or claim an existing one, you confirm that you are authorised by the company to do so, that the information you provide is true and not misleading, that it is yours to publish or that you have permission to publish it, and that it contains nothing classified, export controlled or otherwise restricted from public release. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to publish, store, translate, format, excerpt and index that material on the site and in our newsletters and social channels, for as long as the listing is published.

We may edit submissions for length, accuracy, category fit and house style, and we may decline, suspend or remove any listing at our discretion, including where a claim cannot be verified or where the company falls outside the scope of the directory. A verified badge confirms that we have checked the identity of the company and of the person representing it. It is not an endorsement, certification, audit or recommendation, and it says nothing about quality, capability or compliance.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to do any of the following.

• Publish or transmit anything classified, export controlled, or restricted under any applicable arms control, sanctions or national security law.
• Post false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, harassing, discriminatory or unlawful material, or content that infringes the rights of another person.
• Impersonate a company, an official, an armed force, a government body or another individual, or misrepresent your authority to act for one.
• Post fake reviews, manipulate rankings or enquiry volumes, or use the site to send spam or unsolicited marketing to listed companies.
• Scrape, harvest, mirror or bulk copy the directory by automated means, or build a competing database from it, without our written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, probe or test its security, introduce malicious code, or interfere with its operation.
• Collect the personal data of listed people for any purpose other than a genuine, individual business approach.

Enquiries, reviews and comments must be genuine and relevant. We moderate user content and may edit or remove anything that breaches these terms, without being obliged to monitor everything posted.

Intellectual property

The site design, the software behind it, our editorial articles and the compiled arrangement of the directory are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and database rights. You may read, print and quote short extracts for internal or journalistic use, with attribution and a link to the page. You may not republish substantial parts of the directory, or reproduce it systematically, without our written permission.

Company names, logos, product names and trade marks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. Material you submit remains yours, subject to the licence above. If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, write to us through the contact page with details of the material and the right concerned.

Third party links and advertising

The site links to external websites and carries advertising and sponsored placements, which are labelled. We do not control third party sites, are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Any dealing with an advertiser or a linked site is between you and them.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided on an as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly stated here, and we are not liable for loss of profit, business, contracts, opportunity or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, from reliance on any listing or ranking, or from any dealing with a listed company or advertiser. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you submit or from your breach of these terms.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, remove your content or withdraw a listing where these terms are breached, where a listing cannot be verified, where we are required to do so by law, or where continued publication would expose us or a third party to harm. Where practical and lawful, we will explain why and give you a chance to respond. Provisions on intellectual property, liability, indemnity and governing law survive termination.

Changes, governing law and contact

We may amend these terms as the site develops or the law changes, and the current version is always published on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at the place of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
